Ferranti part id
 

I have a D34L04A Ferranti IC and cannot find any info on it apart from it may be ex aircraft use.

Could it be a Ferranti equivalent of a 74L04?

I see that the eBay seller "Littlediode" is selling a Generic version of it, maybe a message/email to them asking may confirm it is the 74L04.

If this device is in a ceramic package it will be equivalent to 74L series.Large quantities of these types were supplied to the Post Office (BT) half a century ago for System X exchange equipment. The chips used the CDI process in manufacture and were Low Power (L) devices.

Thanks people.
I've sent a message to littlediode.
It is a ceramic package, so very likely an 04.
I may just apply some power and see if it inverts the inputs.

Littlediode says they are not 74L04's.

This 'parts supplier' website suggests that the D34L04 is a hex inverter suggesting that it -may- be pin compatible with other '04' hex inverters.

They were rather abrupt in their reply so I didn't hassle them further.
I don't trust them anyway having had fakes from them before.

I'm more inclined to believe they are hex inverters.

I've quite a few oddly marked ferranti ic's acquired back in the 80's. Most are memory chips.
