Museum of Brands and Packaging

This video is a slide-show of displays of items from the Opie collection.

They have a good selection of old radio sets, shown at about 1 minute in.

It used to be in Gloucester docks. Where is it based now?

The original Robert Opie museum in Gloucester is now located at the London Lighthouse Building (off Lancaster Road) once owned by the Terence Higgins trust:

A nice selection of pictures, especially considering the strict photography ban in place!

I asked staff if I could take a close-up picture of the Champion set (3rd from left, bottom shelf). I explained that one was featured in a BVWS article where the author was unsure about the style of knobs fitted.

I got an unhelpful no.

Still a good place to visit and the photos are just a taster of what is there.

Assuming it's the Champion 836 I have one if the pics are still needed.

Visited it about 5 years ago. Quite a walk from the nearest tube station as it was absolutely pouring with rain! Nicely laid out with huge amount of items relating to the title.
I am surprised at the negative response. It would I feel certainly put off most of this forum membership from ever donating anything?
Different to the Malta Aviation museum where I have donated a few items. It is always so nice to chat with Ray the owner, his wife or son. However, I think to request sitting in his Spitfire or Hurricane would possibly get a "no"!
