AKAI 1710 switch
I have an akai1710 and the track selection switch is not working sticking I have looked for a new one but there are a few different types on on on on off on etc can any one tell me exactly what type I need to get please .thank you. I have tried switch cleaned but it has gone worse for some reason

Although there are 8 contacts they are wired effectively as 2 pole changeover centre off.
As this will be virtually unobtainable, I suggest unsoldering carefully and disassembling. The switch can be cleaned, lubricated, and reassembled. |

In the case of heavy tarnishing you may need to polish the switch contacts, and the
moving contacts may need to be retensioned. Many slide switches incorporate a spring and a steel ball, after cleaning use a clear grease. WD40 is to be avoided. I would only consider replacing the switch if the lever was broken, Note I have a 1710 here and can say the switch is a bit stiff anyway. |
