BSX20 whisker short
Hi just found a bsx20 this is a npn silicon with short emitter to case the colector is int conected to case so the tr is s/c c to e . 12volt between e and case - to e cleared sc prob temp fix this is in a Howes dfd4 counter that i built many years ago it was working yesterday Mick

I've got a load of TO5-cased CV7343 (BCY30-equivalent) transistors here, all produced by the Texas Instruments plant in Bedford in the 1960s - I've been happy to use them for generic duty in things like relay-drivers, but is this wise?? |

Hi thanks fitted bc 109 seems to work ok only used as a pre amp for local osc in 2.3 to 3.3 mhz will take you up on offer if needed thanks again Mick

2n2369 is same part. CPC still sell new ones for £0.44 a go!
Quite worrying to hear of tin whiskers in them though! |

It may not be a tin whisker of course. There may have been a different manufacturing fault which has finally 'gone bad'.
