Redifon VHF radio

4 Attachment(s)
Hi all.
I have a Redifon VHF radio, believed to of come off a Trinity House Pilot Vessel.
It has four channels 6 9 12 16 and a redifon speaker.
Number is (I think) GR 336 Mark II Set No 328.

Does anyone have any information regarding this type of set and what it could be worth please?

I have no aerial to test it properly, but set powers up, and can hear message from another VHF close by.

Thanks in advance

Regards
Graham.

Re: Redifon VHF radio

With only four fixed channels, presumably crystal controlled, this unit is unlikely to have any value except perhaps as a collector's item.

Modern units tend to be housed in a single package with a digital display and can be linked to a GPS receiver.

I have the same radio, but unfortunately no data! Mine was found in New Zealand and has a few maritime VHF channels in it. What is that green box, an accessory power supply audio amp? These date from the late 1950's and that chrome railing around the top edge must have been made for small fingers.

What is it worth? Mine was free. That is the value I have always placed on it, but I suppose on eBay it would bring a small amount. There are few collectors of these and what makes these attractive is that they are dirt cheap. No vacations on the Riviera from a sale of this radio...
