BVWS North West of England swap meet

Well folks it is again that time of year again, and time has flown.

arrangements are well in hand for the 11th April 2010 BVWS North West of England Swap Meet to be held once again at Lowton Civic Hall, close to the A580 between Warrington and Leigh, Lancs.
Doors open at 10am, non BVWS members are welcome as there is the opportunity to join on the day, well worth doing!

Directions for those who have never attended before are here

http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&sourc...1e998208e8ca69

Many tables have already been booked so once again it should be a good event,
with light refreshments and an onsite radio enginner to assist and advise should you need it.

Hopefully there will also be a bring and buy stall and a very good display of 405 line working TV's.

so see you all there.

cheers Mark

Up to now, nothing to collect, a frequency counter for Brian P via Dave M and a clock movement to deliver for MikeyMushRadio.

Update: Clock for to deliver Glyn (Welsh Anorak)

Thanks for the info, I'll be there. I assumed this was admission-only for BVWS members, but glad I can come along now.

Hi Cockshad,

You could always join the BVWS on the day if you enjoy the event. Then you could also enjoy the Bulletins and all the other goodies.

The usual BVWS Table with all of the Capacitors etc will be there and we will also be bringing a table load of stuff to dispose of as usual.

The 405 Line TV display will be running and this time should have a rather special Pre-war television running.

Any one got a 240 Line source??????

I've got an Aurora World converter which I think does all standards. Whether it can get to the right place at the right time is another matter.

That would be fantastic if it could be got there.

Failing all else, how feasible would it be to post it to someone who is going?

Yes, a great event and plenty of folk there, despite all the sunshine!

Thanks to all for organising a top event. :). Good collection of stuff but finances tight so saving my money for NVCF and next Harpenden.

Saw some nice PSU's , labpacks and a nice Leader Sig Gen. Some nice old valve rigs too.

Cheers to all

Jim

Yes, as usual an enjoyable visit. Thanks due to Mark, his family and all other helpers. I took my wife - first time she's been to one of these affairs - she was very impressed, perhaps by the number of good looking older men.:laugh1: (She didn't spot the secret handshakes though!).

I managed, due to the company I was keeping, not to buy much. Got a can of DeoxIT from the BVWS table (that had better be b:censored:y good Mike!).

Very pleasant to see fellow enthusiasts again, looking forward the next one.

Regards to all,

Hi Mike et al. Due to family illness, I am currently anchored in the south east so couldn't turn up with my brother, aka "the driver", as usual [and I'm a a badge pioneer as well]. Most unfortunate as this is a great venue. Was a 240 line picture achieved I wonder? How did Steve's "bodge it" repair desk get on? Dave W
