A big thank you to Peter, PJFradios for the Romac portable radio just received. Been after one of these for years, interested on how the aerial in the carry strap stands up to use. Especially pleased it is the 2 band version, the earlier MW only set was the first UK one to use the “new” B7G battery valves.

Thank you very much to Noel "greenkit" for these original Tektronix manuals! After a looong journey to the continent I held them in my hands yesterday and I must say, a great read! So now there isn't any more a chance of an excuse to not restoring my 7603 scope.

Thanks Noel, that was very generous!

Thanks to Rob (Robinshack) for the solder tags which have just arrived. Just what I'd been looking for, as the last batch I bought (from Rapid Electronics, while I was still at school!) is running low.

Many thanks to Steve (stevehertz) for the Tandberg 2060L Hi-Fi receiver that safetly arrived today.

I remember in the late 1970s a friend had one of these but with Rosewood case and I was very envious of it.

Looking forward to checking it out.

I would like to thank Adrian (agardiner) for the Avo Minor and the Habotest Pen Meter.

Both arrived extremely well packed and in fantastic condition.

That little Habotest has already been put to great use sorting out family appliances so much easier than trying to balance my fluke on my knee whilst using the probes

I lost a similar device 2 decades or so ago in Nanjing.

Cheers

Thanks to Nick the 1100 man for the fluorescent tubes. I'm going to try and shift what I can't (or won't ever) use. (there's probably more mercury in my fillings than in one of those!)

Many many thanks to Mike (Murphy Mad) for today's gargantuan effort.

A bunch of crap Ferranti parts were transformed into a running (at times limping) receiver thanks to the tolerance and perseverance of a truly dedicated human being.

He managed to suffer me, bad repairs, lost parts, my bad memory, broken transformer windings and a ton of rust to resurrect a piece of 1930's history.

It will not be sold - it is coming with me to France. I'll need a huge lorry when I go, but it will be in it!

Cheers to a true stalwart of the radio community plus the supporting crew who kept us entertained with drinks and classic car repairs!

SEAN - owner of a Ferranti that is 90 odd years old!

Just acquired another two signal generators today and boy oh boy are these ones boat anchors8-o They didn't look that big in the pictures... If there was a Mrs Jez I'd be in serious trouble;D

Anyway big thanks to John "Wheelyjon" for donating them FOC, encouraging me to give it a go with the FCS and for bringing them up as far as Wakefield while going on holiday.... where he transferred them plus some gear for Martyn "ICTtutor", thanks Martyn for arranging that. And last but not least thanks to David "Radio Wrangler" for taking them from Wakefield to my door today.

It's amazing what this site and its wonderful members can achieve:)

Cheers,
Jez

I would like to say a huge "Thank You" to Graham (SunSPARC) for his kind gift of a Tektronix 465. I have been after one of these oscilloscopes since I can't remember when and, now, I have one - or will have very soon - it's in transit as I write.

I'm looking forward to giving it a good old fettle (what's in a name eh?:-D) and then enjoying seeing it shining away on the bench in use for many years to come.

Lovely!

Steve.

Many thanks to chris55000 for using the black arts of pcb design to replicate my brc power regulator boards in nice heatproof FR4, not only that but loaning me a sweep generator and sundry other test equipment to align an i.f strip, plus selling me the marconi 2018 signal generator, just got to fix it, (should be fun).
Greg.
