Domino Convertor

Hi I have had one of these since they came out but stopped using it when the external plug in transformer got broken. I was going to use it again but I wasn't sure what the values of the transformer should be. Can anyone enlighten me.

Re: Domino Convertor

I would recommend a 12V 1A regulated supply. A linear rather than a switch-mode is
preferable.

Agreed, linear regulated is a must.

Re: Domino Convertor

Once you’ve obtained a suitable PSU for it, if you find the domino fails to work it could be down to the tantalum capacitors failing. Mine failed and I’ve been informed other dominos have failed too in the same way.
Mark.

Best always to test with a bench supply first and bring up the supply up over a minute especially if the converter hasn't been used for some years. I made a soft start PSU for one which I had replaced caps in after a couple let go.
