Nombrex 32 bridge

HI,
I wanted to put this in the thanks thread, but not sure if one can put in pictures.

Success/thank you story
I wish to thank (Glyn Welsh Anorak) for the Nombrex C.R.32 Test
Bridge he gave me on the 7th of March.

The first problem was to get the knobs off as the grub screws
were rusted solid, so I WD-40 them and left them a couple of days
and I had to force them off.
I then ordered some more new control knobs.

While waiting for the above knobs to arrive I got on with the next
problem to replace the three transistors, as the HV oscillator
was not working (2g371)and the two amplifier transistors (2g374)
had corroded legs, I did not have any of these so I put in place
2N3906,s and replaced the (2x10uf caps) and the (100uf Lt cap)
Then cleaned all controls and Sprayed cabinet, tested and waited for
knobs to arrive.
It is now fully functioning with new knobs.
A nice little Instrument to go with my
Lafayette CR analyzer TE-46.
Heathkit IB-5281 RLC Bridge.
Hameg L.C. meter HM.8018.
Thanks again Glyn.

Re: Nombrex 32 bridge

That has a very pleasing appearance.
I've seen quite a few of these, but usually battered & scratched.
I think the original knobs were a bit smaller, but it looks better proportioned now.
Not lab-grade, but jolly useful.

Hello.g4aaw pete.
Thank you for your comment, yes I am very pleased
with it.
Yes you are correct about the original knobs being smaller
as they had a 25mm skirt and 18mm hat, the new ones
are 28mm skirt and 23mm hat, so well spotted.
Here are some pictures of before.
cheers gezza123
