Murphy A852G RP - service data (actually an A862G RP).

I can't find the data for this RP on the site - any pointers gratefully received. It goes but rather poorly and the tone controls do nothing at all.

I cannot find any info but from photos of the chassis on eBay it appears to be a simple two stage audio amp with a valve rectifier.
Shouldn’t be too difficult to sort out.

What valves does your A852G use? The Murphy A851G (for which there is data available here) uses two ECL86s in push-pull and a metal rectifier.

Thanks - it's a bit humbler than the A851G with A UY85 rectifier and a UCL82 output (2 stages in one valve?). Strange - with such similar model numbers. I revived an A851G some time ago and it was rather nice. I expect I can track down the usual suspect components from the pinouts but it would be reassuring to have a schematic. Pics attached - the fawn coloured, squareish components on the control panel are something I haven't seen before - capacitors? But no values visible.

I suspect that this may be the Murphy "Majorette" from 1968. Rank-Bush-Murphy also made Bush and Dansette versions, just with different badges. But to confirm we need pics.

The Murphy A862G uses a UCL82 and a UY85 like your A852G. The picture of the chassis in the Trader sheet for the A862G looks very much like your picture. The Trader sheet for the A862G is available here

http://www.service-data.com/section.php/5166/1/a862g

and in my opinion is certainly worth a punt.

EDIT: I have just noticed that the Trader sheet calls the A862G the "Majorette" which fits in with Edward's suggestion above.

Thank you very much Colin - that's the one - I probably mis-read the '6' as a 5 - my eyesight is not what it was :(. Interesting to know it was also marketed as a Bush - thanks, Edward.
