Identify an Alba record player
3 Attachment(s)
I just inherited a ALBA record tower, I'm not overly familiar with record players but I'd like to repair it and use it so far the only problem i can see is that the arm doesn't have a needle. If anyone knows the model and what needle I'd need that would be great help, thank you.

A clear closeup photo of the cartridge may help identify the required stylus.

This is a far-eastern sourced unit badged ALBA. I do not recognise the record deck at all. Is there a model number on the rear cover? A close up of the cartridge might help.

Re: Identify an Alba record player
Surely somewhere on the complete hifi unit it says the model number? On the back maybe? Then it may be possible to find the cartridge and needle type from that.

Stylus is a Tetrad T30.
This is typical of the 1980s budget systems. Deck is one of the last BSR efforts (P267) and suffers from dirty contacts on the 33-45 control, plus the belt will probably need replacing by now. Likewise the cassette deck. |

Eek! What I still think of as modern tat is "classic" now. Though I suppose the same applied to most Dansette stuff only 10 years ago.
Fixed up, though, it'll still give a better sounding account of itself than the cheaper Dansettes could. :o |
