Substitute for a BA126 dual diode

Good afternoon,
I am slowly restoring a Marconiphone 405 line portable television which has the Thorn 980 chassis. After getting first light I found out why the line timebase would not lock. The dual diode BA126 is completely missing!! I cannot find much information on this diode unit other than it is 2 separate silicon diodes in a trapezoid shaped case. What diodes could I use to substitute this devise. I presume 2 general purpose 1N400x type could be used?

Many thanks,
Christoper Capener

There's someone selling them here. I've used the person before for specialist semiconductors: http://markhindes.easywebstore.co.uk/BA126_A21XWS.aspx

I'd go for a couple of signal diodes rather than slow rectifier types.

1N4148, 1N914 etc.

If you've got the circuit, you can make a stab at what sort of I and V the diodes have to deal with.

Many thanks Mr Bungle, I have just ordered their last one from them!. Goodness knows why somebody went to the lengths to desolder it off the PCB as well as removing the ECC804 line oscillator valve then put the television back together!!

Hopefully all is looking up for the television once replaced as the main parts all seem to work!

Looks like a couple of 1N4148 would work fine if the NOS part turns out to be u/s.

I think it's only reasonable to put a tv back together when not working on it, so not really going through great lengths if you ask me.

I agree with those saying that a pair of 1N4148 will probably work fine.
