Vintage radios on air...
FISTS CHIRP N DRIFT 2019
DESCRIPTION A second Chirp n Drift activity is scheduled for Monday 6th May, a UK Bank Holiday. Monday 6th May then, dust off the chirpy gear and spread the word for another exciting and interesting event. I hope to work a few more 1154s and elusive Parasets this time, but homebrew gear is also most welcome!! All welcome obviously, not just FISTS! DATES and TIMES (UTC) Monday 6th May 18:00 - 00:00Z (BST: 6th May 19:00 - 7th May 01:00) |
Re: Vintage radios on air...
Are there specific frequencies? All bands or just LF? I have an ARC-5 modified for 80 and would like to have a go but not sure about etiquette / protocols.

Re: Vintage radios on air...
Peter,
Whilst any band is available it's likely to be on 80m. 40 is possible but my money is on 80 Protocols are just usual amateur ones. Listen, call, enjoy. I will be using my T1154 on cw all being well. These events are usually well attended and a number of rather interesting sets are heard. Hope to hear you on D |
Re: Vintage radios on air...
There will be more vintage radios on the air on D-Day. Listen on 3.615 AM for WW2 kit in operation in France and this country.

Re: Vintage radios on air...
Thanks. I shall have a listen out.
I worked a nice sounding WS19 MK2 last night. |
Re: Vintage radios on air...
Hi Guys
Re the D-Day event on 3615: Any times specified or is it an all day event? Hope to hear the action on my AR88D Jan / SM5MRQ |
Re: Vintage radios on air...
The 3615 activity is all day from early morning I read. I will try to join in just to add T1154 R1155 to the list but then I'll go on CW about 3.56 or 7.03 mc/s.

Re: Vintage radios on air...
Too bad 3615 kHz is so often plastered by a raucous digital buzzsaw-sounding signal a couple of kHz below. It usually stops around 0800 but before that I need to shut down the passband below the carrier on the SDR to hear any VMARS activity.
