1-50MHz frequency counter kit from Alibaba

Hello, as I was working to install the above mentioned counter in a leader LSG11 signal generator, I managed to destroy the 16-628A pic microprocessor, and am loking for a place to obtain a replacement programmed ic, or if someone may have the program and burn a copy. The counter has 5 led numbers and includes an xtal tester.

The original code is here https://github.com/Ho-Ro/DL4YHF-Sour...ee/main/DL4YHF, all you need is the correct HEX file (there are 3 variants as described in the ASM file) to program a new PIC.

Hi - since the PIC seems to cost between £5 and £10 inc UK postage on EBAY, and a complete kit costs £8.80 inclusive again from a UK seller I wonder if it would be better to just order a new kit and use the PIC if that's all you need?

As it is cheaper to buy the kit than the part, buy the kit.

Just to point out, these Chinese clones do not have a protected input for the frequency counter so be careful what you connect to it.

Those 50MHz counters are very vulnerable to PIC death. I'm not sure whether it is sensitivity to static or just overload on the input. It seems to be an issue with counter modules; too little drive and they don't work, too much and the die!
