British Vintage Wireless and TV Museum

There is a table top sale followed by a music extravaganza at the Museum at Dulwich on Sunday.

It starts at 11am and for more details please see

http://www.bvwtm.org.uk/events.htm

There will be some great bargains to be had all being sold to raise funds for the Museum. The Table Top sale will include some items from the Museum, a huge collection of Wireless Worlds and lots of components and items which came from a shop which closed many years ago

Being demonstrated will be a RED Decca 50 in really excellent condition. This will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on the day - NO reserve. No commission bids, only attendees at the event will be able to bid.

The weather looks GREAT, Eileen is running the BBQ so come along and you will be welcome.

I've never been there, what's parking like and is it in the ULEZ?

On the occasions I've been there in the past, also on Sundays, there seems to have been a reasonable amount of on-street parking in the vicinity. I don't know about ULEZ, as that has come in since I was last there, but it was well outside the congestion charge area, being just south of the South Circular.

A GREAT day yesterday. We had the weather and the event was well attended with around 40 enthusiasts in total.

Picture 1 shows Richard as our DJ, Picture 2 shows Eileen in complete control!

A lot of bargains and by the afternoon three of the stalls were empty!

Thanks to all involved and we look forward to seeing you again at our next event on the 24th August - a Music Afternoon.

The Decca 50 wind up Gramophone in RED was hotly contested eventually making £115 for museum funds. It really was a beauty but I was pipped at the post :-) although Benita (SWMBO) was not too disappointed I didn't win as she wasn't to keen in any more toys in the front room. (wait until RWB!)

Thanks to all bidders!

I wasn't there and all the photos shown here may not be representative, but everyone has grey hair. Were any youngsters there or is the museum slowly becoming a silvery history?

Not at all! Museums generally attract older members of the community but that's not a negative thing.

Lets stay positive and move forward :)
