Re: Server Busy
Had a similar experience this morning (29/1/10), around 0653. Kept on getting a message from the forum software saying things were too busy (I think there were 2 members + 8 guests logged in). I was somewhat frustrated that I couldn't even open this thread - I thought there might have been some explanation within.
Eventually I gave up + closed the tab without updating my 'messages read'. [This is in no way a complaint - the forum, its owner + moderators do a fab job ! It's just in case there is an issue with the host and/or package]. dave

Re: Server Busy
I'm getting an intermittent 'server time out' on Firefox browser when accessing the forum.

Re: Server Busy
Yes, another client is sending a mass emailing to subscribed customers using a server script. I have just reduced the amount of emails their script sends per batch which should ease this.
Normally they are sent late evening when there is less server activity so don't affect performance as much. |

I had the message server busy when trying to enter the forum last night at 11.15 pm, and still did not get in after several tries.

Re: Server Busy
I am aware of network problems making the website inaccessible or painfully slow over the last 10 minutes or so. The hosting company are on the case. It's affecting loads of clients, not just me.
It seems to be OK again now, though we should expect possible further hiccups over the next hour or so. |

Re: Server Busy
Yep I had the same thing last night at around 22:30 but as I was about to sign off anyway, I didn't get a chance to report it.

Re: Server Busy
Typed a couple of rather lengthy PMs last night then lost them when it came back as server busy. I thought it was my PC playing up again.
Hopefully its sorted now. Peter W......Reelguy |

Re: Server Busy
Saturday, 21:20 hrs.
Unable to access Forum: "Server busy". Remained in this condition until at least 21:35 hrs. Present time: 22:45 hrs.; 'normal service' now available. Time of resumption of 'normal service' not exactly known. Hopefully this is a useful report. Al. / Skywave. |

Re: Server Busy
I have forwarded the times etc to the hosting company to see if they can glean anything from the server logs.
There will be brief periods when the server is busy running backup and maintenance tasks etc, but these are scheduled for the early hours of the morning (between 1am and 4am), not mid evening. |
