Name the VCRs Competition!
Can anyone name the VCRs in the attached pictures? Most should be fairly easy..
Extra bonus point for anyone that can spot the odd one(s) out! An extra two bonus points if anyone can tell me what groundbreaking feature the bottom VCR had, in the picture of three VCRs. I'm planning on disposing of these machines in the very near future so if anyone is interested please shout! First refusal goes to whoever identifies the most VCRs!! |

Re: Name the VCRs Competition!
Can I see an Hitachi VT-11E or similar (17-E, 33-E as the etc.), and what looks like an Alba VCR4000X or similar (Goodmans version) ?, as the picture is unclear, apart from the Sanyo VTC 5000, 9300, 6500 etc. and of course the Sony C6, the toshiba with the ground breaking feature, was this the model with a digital framestore for the pause ?
Cheers, Baz Ok so Iam wrong on the last one after reading ben's post above

Quote:
1st pic you are correct that most are VTC5000. Yes, the JVC is a VHS but the model number is incorrect.. You are close-ish with the others, but no cigar... |

I forgot the JVC, as it's not the HR 7300 (as ben posted) is it the HR 7200 (the clone being the fergy 3V29) ?
The Hitachi the VT8000 series ?

Re: Name the VCRs Competition!
2nd pic, middle unit, toploading betamax, this was my first functioning VCR as a kid. Awesome machine, has a massive induction motor for the main drive and a fantastic 'wrap-around' mechanism for the tape load.
Common failure for no power was a dry jointed or failed TIP3055 at the rear right hand side of the machine. Those massive piano keys on the front needed a good amount of force to operate the functions! Dave. |

Re: Name the VCRs Competition!
Hi
The Hitachi's a 9300 series, I think. The one on top of the JVC is, I think, a Sharp - or possibly a VHS Sanyo. Glyn |

Re: Name the VCRs Competition!
Well, the one no one has got is an Osaki!!
The odd two out were both VHS machines, the rest Betamax. |

Re: Name the VCRs Competition!
Does anyone want this lot?
I don't think any of them work, most are complete but a few have had parts robbed and all are best described as 'scruffy'. Free to good home but you must be able to collect from Southampton... |

Re: Name the VCRs Competition!
I spotted the Osaki (VCR32?) but unfortunately didn't spot the thread in time (it's actually a GoldStar GSE1232E clone IIRC).

Re: Name the VCRs Competition!
Yes..... 6 X Sanyo VTC 5000 (one with missing tuner flap another missing stop button), 4X 5150's (one with missing tuner flap), 2 X 5300's,1 X 5400, 1 X Sanyo 6500, 1 X Sanyo 9300, 1 X Sony C6 Mk11, 1 x Toshiba V8600 with four heads for clean still frame, I JVC VHS, not sure on the other two VHS's as my main thing is Beta.
Have they all got missing parts? I could do with the tuner flaps on the 5150's/5000's (if they already have parts missing inside) and would need them posted out (flaps only). Cheers...............Kevin |

Re: Name the VCRs Competition!
Before anybody gets too excited, remember we're dealing with a thread over 4 years old!

Re: Name the VCRs Competition!
And since it's over four years old it's probably best that we lay it quietly to rest.
