Hi
I am a new member trying to find information on the 28 volt input to the above receiver which we have in our museum.

Thanks for these replies, I have looked at the circuit diagram but unfortunately it does not show the connections for the 28 volt input so I am still a bit stuck for the correct pin connections to the Jones plugs.

Is it possible to trace the dynamotors motor winding connection back to the 28 volt input?

Lawrence.

Take a look at this thread:

https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=60052

The BOAC paper on the AD108 referenced therein does include power supply and connection details in the full schematic on the last page.

Cheers,

But the BOAC document there is the selfsame one as the BAMA one- childish scribbles, adult annotations and all.

The power circuit is on the last page, but no pin connection details.

But there do appear to be points in the circuit that are annotated with pin numbers of the 'AD' and 'H' Jones plugs.

E.g. H3 at the top of the heater chain and H1 and H2 at the bottom.

Dear All
Thanks for your help with this receiver. It is now running but after a short while an electrolytic capacitor started to smoke so have decided to replace all the capacitors in the RX then hopefully it will play.
Cheers,

Either that capacitor is failing or it has excess voltage across it. Check carefully rather than a blanket change and end up with all sorts of problems.
