Re: LW Broadcast RTE1
So have I. Being of a suspicious turn of mind, the questionnaire looks like the sort of one I'd design if I was hoping to prove that DAB /digital was the way to go. Nothing wrong with new ways to do things, of course, but I have a lot of radios with a LW position on the band selector, and it would be a pity if it became redundant.

Re: LW Broadcast RTE1
Me too. Doesn't look too promising, does it, but let's see. It would be a shame for RTE 1 to be just something else coming in via pantry transmitter.

Survey done. Wish the frequency was clear at night but fortunately I can null out Algeria where I am located.

Re: LW Broadcast RTE1
Quality broadcasting across the board for many people of all ages here in the U.K.
Long wave is easy to receive in most parts of the U.K. and very familiar to most of the listening audience, please retain this vital service. To support the retention of this broadcasting service please complete the survey at https://jfe.qualtrics.com/form/SV_cMY5YAORn9Rge8Z |

Re: LW Broadcast RTE1
I've completed the survey.
I suspect that in most cases giving truthful answers is going to demonstrate that there's no need for RTE's longwave transmissions. ie we can listen to the broadcast by other means.

Re: LW Broadcast RTE1
Yes, I am suspicious that the survey is somewhat biased to getting the answers they want, but we must let them see that listeners are concerned and wish to keep the service running. It's the" truthful answers" bit that's important!
The response to my original post has been astonishing. RTE radio1 do have many good programs, (when you are able to listen), the audio quality is a lot better than BBC Radio 4. We all know you can receive RTE on internet, but this is not radio broadcast and this is what we must keep going. |
