Thanks David, I will contact them.

I am really pleased with the set. The sound quality is good and there is plenty of it; it also looks good. I can imagine the original owners being delighted with it. It just lacks a headphone (or earphone as they were then) socket, but I imagine that is easily remedied if necessary.

You could always remove the badge and respray it, though that won't give it the original metallic look.

I thought about that but I think it might be difficult to get it off without breaking it. It is held on by plastic pins through the case which have been melted over. I could try heating them with a soldering iron but I don't think there would be anything left to re-melt.

I'll see what happens about getting a replacement and decide what to do then.

I bought a new Roberts badge which is identical to the original except that it is gold in colour. I think that tones well with the overall cream/gold colour scheme of the set. I also got a replacement knob from a forum member.

It is now working well. Thank you to all who helped.

What a nice example. You don't usually find them with intact knobs and handles like that.

I think that the handle is made from synthetic material. I have an R66 which has a leather handle and this hasn't done so well. It is a much heavier set of course.
