Spotted this radio in local shop. What is it? (IDed as a Cossor Melody Master 523).
Hi guys looking for more information on this radio I saw in a shop yesterday. I did not buy it but second guessing myself now what is it should I have picked it up. Looked clean. The valve on the front left side is that a magic eye?

These sound really good and this same chassis was used in the 2 speaker Radiogram version.

I have one standing in my hall, and the magic eye, which is the item on the front left, still works on mine.
The VHF FM also works fine even on its own aerial. Maybe you should go back to the shop and see if it is still there and if the price is right take it home. John |

There's an identical one in a charity shop in Eastbourne, sadly it's not for sale it's sitting on top of a cupboard gathering dust, been there for years!

Be careful with the knobs on this chassis particularly the right hand centre.
Cossor seem to have cheapened the knobs and they are prone to splitting. The Wavechange gets stiff and its usually the first knob to go! Some knobs in this style are solid and seem to be OK but most are hollow and made of ticky tacky Cheers Mike T
