Mine is an MBP183, a.k.a. the "Stroller III" with Dx91-series valves and is visually identical to the radio pictured, but there may have been other versions with different model numbers.

Re: BVWS Magazine
I usually find that the cheap TESCO 'value' DVD players will play anything, even a 78 rpm record if you could cram it in!
My expensive Sony player has a hissy fit if you attempt to feed it anything dodgy, dirty or scratched. Great DVD, Also loved the electricity board film. John |

Re: BVWS Magazine
I really enjoyed the Electricity Board film last week, but try not to get through the whole disc in one 'Binge'.
Settled down to enjoy 'Handle with Care' today, but my Sony RDR-HXD870 won't play it, nor the other 2 remaining titles. Just the first few seconds and then it kicks me out into the disc menu. Dug out a 12V Goodmans portable unit that plays all titles without problems; including the BVWS 'Tuning Dial' animation, which my Sony unit doesn't display. I've got plenty of BVWS DVDs, but this is the first that I've had problems with. However, the content is well worth the effort of rigging up an alternative player. Thanks again to the team for locating and transferring these interesting films. The latest magazine is a great read and matches the high standards set by previous editions. At the start of the thread, thomass asked when the films date from. In 'Handle with Care', there's a pan over the banks of the Thames in London and it looks like the Vickers Tower (now Millbank Tower) is under construction. That would date it between 1959 and 1963. Regards, SR Last edited by Stuart R; 8th Jan 2017 at 3:21 pm. Reason: Rephrasing - I don't have plenty of problematic BVWS DVDs - just this one! |

Re: BVWS Magazine
Thought the was going to be a write up on that Pye Service Rack, alas not.
Possibly a little voice is telling me to get mine sorted and do it.

Mines here too, a bit of cooking and then, reading time. SWMBO is in Paris tonight so I can cook something that only needs one hand to eat.

Re: BVWS Magazine
Fascinating article about the transatlantic cable. The rest was very good too (as usual).
