Radio 5 nostalgia (nostalgia is the name of the music programming in the morning and afternoon, there is also science and culture in the evening) will disappear from the medium wave in a year.

Is that an official announcement from the BBC? Got a link?

Graham, try BBC Radio Scotland 810kHz and BBC NI/Radio Ulster 1341kHz after dark, also try Manx Radio 1368kHz.
This list is good
http://mediumwaveradio.com/uk.php

Yes, Arrow Classic Rock was probably the last of the good MW stations but RTL on LW 234kHz is worth a listen late evenings with George Lang, spoken in French but the music is good. "W-Country" on Friday nights is very good where he plays new American country music with jingles from american radio....quite different.
