Running the Auroras RF modulator only
Hi, reading the instructions for the SCRF Aurora it says that the RF modulator can be used alone. Does anyone know how I set the aurora to do this as I have some 405 tape that I would like to run through it.

Re: Running the Auroras RF modulator only
I think you just feed audio /video in and the testcard goes off.

Re: Running the Auroras RF modulator only
So, does that mean that it automatically detects whether the input is 405-line or 625-line - bypassing the converter in the former case?

Re: Running the Auroras RF modulator only
One of the option switches inside needs to be set to make the Aurora operate as a modulator only.
Switch No. 8 on the earliest ones, No. 6 on later ones. The paper label will confirm. I have used this option for 405-line VHS and it works fine. Roy |

Re: Running the Auroras RF modulator only
Update:
My Aurora was one of the earliest. You may find that yours is a different version if you have purchased it recently, and the method for enabling modulator-only operation may have changed. Instructions for all versions are available on the Aurora website. http://www.tech-retro.com/Aurora_Des...downloads.html |
