D Cell Battery Reproduction Labels
Hello I'm new to this forum and not sure if this is the right place to ask this question. I was wondering if anyone has any scans of D size battery labels from 1930-1940. I'm in the process of building a 1936 Schwinn Motorbike and the tank takes 4 D cell batteries. I would like to cover the batteries with vintage labels if possible.
Thank you Mark Last edited by paulsherwin; 7th Jul 2008 at 11:58 pm. Reason: Edited to comply with forum rules |

Re: D Cell Battery Reproduction Labels
I was able to find a vintage D size battery as a sample of a vintage label scan I'm looking for.
Thank you |

Re: D Cell Battery Reproduction Labels
That'd work somewhat, but the label is 60's vintage.
I've made up a bunch of thirties and forties covers. Any particular brand you're looking for?

Re: D Cell Battery Reproduction Labels
No particular brand preference but I do like the Eveready battery logos. If I could find something period correct that would be awesome. Thanks for helping date the battery in my last post.
I found the attached scan not sure what period its from. I shrunk it and put 2together and it fits perfectly around a D size battery. I would like to find a complete period correct flat scan of a D size battery. Thank you for your help Mark Last edited by Dave Moll; 15th Jul 2008 at 5:13 pm. Re: D Cell Battery Reproduction Labels
As an aside (and possibly OT - sorry) was there any connection (forgive the pun) between "Eveready" in the USA and "Ever Ready" in the UK?
Cheers de Pete

Re: D Cell Battery Reproduction Labels
Distant cousins at first, now pretty much the same company...
