Default Black box motor sinkage and speed selection.

I freed up all the seized moving bits on this BSR UA8, but it wont select 78, seemingly because the motor is sitting too low due to the rubber mountings collapsing. Would the solution be rubber grommets and if so, what size?

This is a very common problem on these UA8s. You need to buy similar diameter grommets (Maplins) and stack them up (remove the 3 old collapsed mountings) to allow the proper alignment of the idler wheel edge with the stepped spindle for all 4 speeds. Whlst doing this, clean the idler and inner turntable rim with IPA.
