Design a radio competition
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17608123
This may be of interest to some. The BBC are running a competition to design a surround for a (dare I say it) digital radio. |

Re: Design a radio competition
Yes, I heard the Today Programme piece. Raising the profile a little of the history of radio was good. But my heart sank when, by the end of the item, not once was mentioned what the designed radio should be able to DO.
What bands should it cover? That's probably irrelevant as it'll be for a digital set, although not actually mentioned, despite the interviewee saying that one important feature of a radio was its dial... Sound, RF performance, ease of use... nahh - it's just gotta look "cool". (I need to get a life and let this stuff just pass me by.) Regards, Ian |

Re: Design a radio competition
I've sent for the design brief.
John Maxwell Hobb's article http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/johnmaxwe...function.shtml Quote:
I think that when the presenter talks about "cool" it's like us taking abou say a Bush DAC 90A or an ECKO model AD-65. |
