Avometer model 8 not functioning.
I have a Avo 8 Mk 5, the one with plastic connection leads internally, it won't work on any of the DC volts ranges, all other ranges OK. Any help would be appreciated.Ted

The obvious suggestion is to check the mylar flexi. They are notorious for going open circuit, sometimes in a very intermittent way.
Buzz them through with another meter, breaks can be invisible.

A good way to look for hairline cracks is to shine a bright light through from t'other side. I find a tiny LED 'keyfob' torch very useful for getting into awkward places.

Many thanks to all who responded to my request, fault located and its working on all ranges as it should.Just a slight problem with a switch.Having been inside earlier models was amazed how little was in the later Mk.
