Re: Rediffusion Mk4A Tripler
I have always kept the beam current modest on this TV
Oddly enough, even though it was showing that test card for half an hour while I faffed about with the camera and exposures , it did not show the characteristic colour distortion due to shadow mask heating. I have MythTV system and this TV is connected via composite to a WDTVlive box that connects to MythTV and produces a PAL output. This set makes a very good job of showing 1080p material that the WD live can transcode to PAL. This TV can even show iPlayer that way. Something the original developers never had in mind. Ken |

Re: Rediffusion Mk4A Tripler
Impressive, Ken.
I've had several of these Mk4 sets through my hands over the years, but not one had a good tube, sadly. N. |

Re: Rediffusion Mk4A Tripler
Videocolor tubes good, ITT tubes useless in my experience, I'm afraid.
ITT were the second source and these tubes tended to be fitted to the basic (non text) sets whereas the CITAC/text sets generally got the better tubes. Leon. |
