Default Sony TC186SD Cassette Deck

Hello All

I have one of these cassette decks that after a number of years of being in storage is being "woken up" and brought back into service.

It's a good quality item and when it did work some years ago the quality of the recordings it made was outstanding.

The problem it has - fast foward and rewind not working - has been traced to the usual dried grease in the pivot arm on which the common idler used for winding. In order to get to this however a fair amount of stripping down has been necessary and this has included the very complicated cassete holding assembly. I rapidly disassembled it last night with the slow realisation that it might be "a bit complicated" to put back together without some sort of diagram, which, in my haste, I did not do!!

Has anybody got a copy of the service manual with the exploded diagram of the cassette holder for this or a similar model?

Bit of a long shot I guess but might as well ask!!!

You can actually find a scan of the manual here if you subscribe:

I've attached the deck cassette-holder exploded view if that's any use?
