The Gee RF units are a source of a number of Aladdin formers.
I certainly wouldn't advocate dismantling a good example, but they are common and often turn up in battered or previously hacked-about condition, only really suitable for parts recovery. |

Winding a DRR2 replacement on a dust-iron toroid could lead to too much coupling so no longer possible to short the LW winding for MW. I suspect that the only way to achieve similar performance (i.e. same inductance, similar coupling, similar capacitance) is to replicate the DRR2 design fairly closely.

Dave,you are absolutely correct,I only did the MW section.
The attempt was to derive a coil with the same sharp tuning selectivity. I would undoubtedly have driven myself mad attempting to put all the extra LW turns on as well. |
