Default Derwent radio

Hi,
Does anyone have any information about this radio please?

The KP7710 HT choke is sparking; it measures 8.6H @ 1kHz and 1300R. Other than that it all works! Does anyone know where I would find a replacement?

I bought this lovely radio because when I was 17 I left school and worked for Derwent Television for several years.

Best regards....spicesimmer

If it is the smoothing choke you mean Any type or a 1K resistor of 5 to 10 watts will do.

For general information, we've been here before quite a few times - this model turns up much more often than any other Derwent, and in several other guises too!

Thank you guys for your help, much appreciated.

The choke changed its value from 1300R to 800R, a short somewhere internal maybe so accounts for sparks and smoke.
As Peter's suggestion, I put a 1k 7Watt resistor in its place and all seems to be running well. Has a nice audio tone.

kind regards....spicesimmer

Hi If you post a pic of the coil in the wanted section with dimensions someone may have a suitable one.
