Derwent radio
Hi,
Does anyone have any information about this radio please? The KP7710 HT choke is sparking; it measures 8.6H @ 1kHz and 1300R. Other than that it all works! Does anyone know where I would find a replacement? I bought this lovely radio because when I was 17 I left school and worked for Derwent Television for several years. Best regards....spicesimmer |

Re: Derwent radio
If it is the smoothing choke you mean Any type or a 1K resistor of 5 to 10 watts will do.

Re: Derwent radio
For general information, we've been here before quite a few times - this model turns up much more often than any other Derwent, and in several other guises too!

Re: Derwent radio
Thank you guys for your help, much appreciated.
The choke changed its value from 1300R to 800R, a short somewhere internal maybe so accounts for sparks and smoke. As Peter's suggestion, I put a 1k 7Watt resistor in its place and all seems to be running well. Has a nice audio tone. kind regards....spicesimmer |

Re: Derwent radio
Hi If you post a pic of the coil in the wanted section with dimensions someone may have a suitable one.
