Default Akai 1710W service manual required

Hi folks. I've decided to get busy and sort out my Akai 1710W. Some of the caps need replacing for cert.

I'm trying to track down a service manual which included the schematic and I'd be really grateful if any forum member can provide one.

Many thanks.

Thanks Peter. Yes I've tried OM, but the closest I can get is a 1720.

Thanks Colin. I'm trying other sources, but as of this time I still haven't tracked one down.

Hi paolo, I was wondering if I could add myself to the long list of people hoping to get your service manual PDF for the Akai 1710w? I would really appreciate it. I tried to send you a PM, but because I am new, I couldn't seem to get it to work.

Hello Speedyspaceman and welcome to the forum.

Now that you have a post approved you will be able to use the PM system. You might need to allow a little time for the software to catch up with your status.

Hello

I've managed to find a 1710W with the record cam intact!! The next step is cleaning and restoration. Would anyone have an operators manual available for this model?

Thanks.

Hi folks,

Just the other day I found the remains of a 1710W on the scrapheap. The tape recorder itself was missing, but still. I'm left with a little tube (pre)amp with speakers. Could be turned into a fun little sound system, I think. Need the scematics though.

Hi guys,

Trying to get hold of a service manual / schematic for the 1710L myself and did get the schematic from this thread but it isn't very legible, and I am unable as a new member to PM anyone, so if anyone can help, please let me know - would be really appreciated.

I was lucky in that I inherited a unit that hasn't had anything done to it (at all) but although it does work, I want to at least change the electrolytics given its age, and a manual or at least a decent quality schematic would help. Grateful for the one posted here, but I can't make it all out properly.

Thanks.
