Re: Bush DAC90A repair.
Regarding the bulbs being so dim as standard on the DAC90A what is the consensus about leaving the translucent sheet out so the bulbs can just light up the scale? I know it's not original but every other valve set I've done works in this way.

Re: Bush DAC90A repair.
I would leave it in - especially if it is still glued in place.
And once you have removed it the chances of finding the part again when you want it decreases! John |

Re: Bush DAC90A repair.
If you want brighter scale lamps then the resistor in parallel with the lamps can be increased. It was originally 250 ohms but Bush reduced it 75 ohms to improve the life of the bulbs

Re: Bush DAC90A repair.
The radio sounds good.
In your last video you have different brightness bulbs, if you want them to appear the same they must be identical bulbs, same voltage & same current. The translucent sheet is there to help disperse the light from the bulbs more evenly across the scale. If you remove it then the illumination of the dial will appear uneven. Mike |
