Default Drive Belt Sizes

Hi all, I've been servicing my Volvo TD-603 stereo after the cassette deck stopped turning the cassette and was stuck in an infinite loop of auto-reverse. Luckily it turned out to just be a snapped drive belt which measures around 200mm when folded flat x 1mm cross section.

I have looked on ebay and there are plenty of belts with a 1mm cross section although the 'fold length' only goes up to 135mm and this seems constant across all the listings I have seen.

Either I'm measuring my belt wrong or I'll have to look elsewhere for one in the size I need. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

I'll include some pictures soon

Thanks

I've several bags of Chinese mixed belts that I can check.

Can you confirm though that you're looking for a belt with a circumference of 400mm, as I'm not too sure what folded length means.

It's normal to specify belts as having a circumference of about 10% less that that of a length of cord wound round the pulleys.

Here's some images of how I measured it, the circumference is roughly 125mm ± 5mm.

Do you mean the DIAMETER is roughly 125mm?

That is what I meant, my mistake

Pretty embarrassing really considering I measure for a living!

The circumference is 405mm

Sorry, But I don't have any belts that long. 1mm square cross section seems rather small for a belt of that length.

This company has belts which may fit, but none of them matches your exact specification:-

Other suppliers are available.

I would just go for a 125mm Diameter belt to the nearest thickness. It will either move the parts, or get stuck or slip if it's wrong.
