Unidentified clamp, widget, thingy??
It's not often I can't identify something, any suggestions. It rotates and tilts, The arms on the top move as it seems it was meant to hold something. the cable has a belling lee on the end and in the unit it goes to a small red coloured plastic device, also not recognized.
I rediscovered it in a box today were it has lain hidden for a couple of decades. Walker Electronics still exists making ultrasonic cleaning equipment. Brian |

Re: unidentified clamp, wiget, thingy??
My first guess is that it's a pickup for a watch timing machine. That would contain a crystal or ceramic transducer to 'listen' to the watch escapement and the tilt/swivel allows you to test the watch in different positions, to check for wear on the pivots, etc.

The link (although interesting) doesn't say what this is. A bit of properly made kit!

Re: unidentified clamp, wiget, thingy??
Well, it seems to say in the first paragraph that the Meridian is an electronic watch timer.....
