Velleman 'MK105' Signal Generator mini-kit
As part of Maplin’s clearout I see that they’re offering the Velleman MK105 ‘Mini Kit’ signal generator at £4.99, down from their normal price of £8.99, but that said, it’s £4.99 from other suppliers too, though with Maplin, you can just walk into the shop with no postal hassles.
It’s stretching things a bit to refer to it as a ‘signal generator’ in the conventional sense, given that it’s just one fixed un-calibrated frequency, but it’s a neat and simple little kit, useful if say a 1kHz (or thereabouts) un-modulated square or sine wave signal is needed for testing amplifiers etc. It generates four different signal types: sine wave, square wave, triangle wave and an integrator signal, selectable by a jumper. However, a single pole 4-way switch could be fitted for convenience to switch from one waveform to another. The generator has a fixed 1 kHz (approximately) frequency, the level of which is adjustable on a pre-set potentiometer from 1-100 mV. It has an integral PP3 battery box, and needs a single pole on/off switch: https://www.maplin.co.uk/p/velleman-...lder-kit-vx94c I’ve attached the circuit below. Hope it may be of interest to someone.
