Re: All World two help.
There's a 73-page paper by Gerry O'Hara at the Eddystone User Goup on the 'All World Two' at the link below Peter, but originally the coils were off-the-shelf Eddystones, so unless you can find the data about those coils, that's not a lot of help. Undoubtably others will have built replicas, so if no-one on here can add anything, you might like to try your luck on the EUG:
http://eddystoneusergroup.org.uk/Res...Appendices.pdf Hope that helps a bit. Good luck in your quest.

Re: All World two help.
Hi Pete, I have this 1.5" D coil, Looks like its the same former on the above Eddystone page with 6 pins, marked "RAYMART MFC CO BIRMINGHAM" Box is marked looks like "281L coil for radio" or may be price 28/4 but that would be very expensive for the year. Yours for postage if needed.

Hello Pete,
Are you using Eddystone formers and did you find the turns count information you needed? 73, Lou VE3AWA |

Re: All World two help.
I wonder which is better; an "All World Two" or an "International Shortwave Two" (for latter see http://vintageradio.me.uk/radconnav/2_valve.htm) ?
Perhaps we should ask Harry Hill? Some similarity of coils? B

Re: All World two help.
hi.
I have finished the All World Two. People keep asking is it any good. I must say I've built better. Its all down to getting used to the band spread. In mine I used a modern tuning capacitor. Trouble is the are not linear, so the band spread is not linear. not good. Pete |

Re: All World two help.
Given the limited degree of selectivity of a two valve TRF, and if you have some decent slow-motion drives, I'm a little surprised that you need bandspread, at least for broadcast stations. The "Int. SW 2" didn't have bandspread. Perhaps those Eddytone formers really do make super Hi-Q coils .
