Default Acquired Kenwood M-97M - Info needed

Hi everyone.
I have been very lucky to have acquired a fabulous 'Kenwood' Midi M-97M' Midi separates system for silly money, well £20 actually.
It's all perfect and included speakers, Remote control and Instruction manual.

My question is, does anyone know when this model was manufactured?
I have done a search but can not find any information.

Thank you in anticipation
Steve

A friend of mine had one very similar to this new. Year was 1992.
I recall being very underwhelmed by the plastic record deck!

That would be very close to spot-on.
The system has an A-97 Stereo-amplifer, for which I have the service-manual, and it is dated 1993.
It also sports a T-76L Tuner, a DP-97 CD-player, a P-78 Turntable, a GE-970 Equalizer, a X-97 Cassette player and came with a pair of LS-97 Speakers.

rgds,

Excellent, thank you for the info.
I have also written to Kenwood to get their opinion, I will confirm on here when they get back to me.

Opinion on what? You'll be very lucky if anyone in Pioneer knows anything about this model

Yep, you'd be lucky to get anything but a standard "sorry this model is no longer supported" e-mail, if they bother to reply at all, but you never know.

Michael, I take it Kenwood are now owned by Pioneer, then?

Nick.

Got a reply from 'Kenwood', ye of little faith LOL.
You were right about the date of manufacture.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay; I've been out of the office recently...
This system was manufactured between 1993 – 1994

Kind Regards,
