Default Filter design software and websites

A thread for filter design stuff, especially if it's free.

I've been using the Remez/Parkes-McLellan applet here. Looks nice and simple to use and seems to work well though I haven't actually implemented any designs yet.

More stuff, not tried any of this:

This is available as a very limited free version or a short term trial version if you don't want to spend the money. May well be the best package around. I believe that Tubesrule (Darryl) uses it for the digital filters in his Aurorae

This is one I've been using of late -

It's free and the opening screen advert disappears after it's been used a few times.

I've used that for some years. I also worked in a place that had the capacitor meter which is quite good.

It's not a substitute for knowing what you are doing, but very useful. Handy to design an elliptic filter and then tweak the peaks/notches for specific frequencies.
