Radio Viewing
Yesterday's ITV program Perspectives (SB Show clone) "Sergeant on Spike" was very radio related and worth a view (on line?). plus it was all familiar to me as a regular Bexhill visitor as well so a bit of a bonus.
Tonight's "Plastic How It Works" BBC4 includes the Bakelite Museum in Somerset and the development of 78's (repeated Thursday 10pm). More plastic in Gunther Von Hagen's Crucifixion last night on CH4. No Radio but definately communication. The reviewers didn't get it. Dave W |

Re: Radio Viewing
People often say there's nothing on Robin, but they are probably repairing a set and not watching one-fair enough though! BBC4 is always worth monitoring for TV/Radio material I find. After 10 years I should put a master list together.
We have to search things out with more than two channels these days. Dave W |

Re: Radio Viewing
BBC4 is the first listing we turn to. Only if there's nothing of interest there do we start looking at the mainstream channels.

Re: Radio Viewing
I watched last night's 'Plastic - How It Works' on BBC4 and found it very informative and interesting, as Dave as already pointed out, repeated on BBC4 at 10:00pm on Thu 12 April.
The programme pretty much charted the history of plastic from Charles Goodyear's chance find of how to vulcanise rubber, to the discovery of celluloid and Leo Baekeland's creation of bakelite. Then on to more recent plastics such as pvc and polystyrene, before ending with the latest innovations such as graphene and plastics developed for use in the human body that dissolve after assisting healing. Well worth viewing for the section on the Bakelite Museum alone, there were many iconic Bush and Ekco bakelite radios and televisions on show, as well as bakelite telephones of the period. Re: Radio Viewing
Caught this programme last night. Excellent.
I'm not a great telly watcher but there is some really good stuff on BBC4, though Vintage Top of the Pops was a bit grim. I watched it from behind the sofa. |
