Perdiogram Record player any ideas?
I've just got hold of a Perdiogram Record player-radio from the 60s.
I'm guessing by the BSR deck and Red/Black mains cable (radio only LW-MW). Anyone know anything about the company? |

Re: Perdiogram Record player any ideas?
I did a google search before posting and didn't find much of help and the Perdio mentioned on here seems to be radios only.
I just thought someone may know. Last edited by Mike Phelan; 31st Oct 2014 at 3:26 pm. Reason: Typos. |

Re: Perdiogram Record player any ideas?
They were early pioneers of the British transistor radio market, and that is mainly what they did. However they did produce other things, such as your Table Radiogram, and a transistorised portable TV.

I never heard of a Perdiogram!
What's the valve line-up?

Re: Perdiogram Record player any ideas?
I'm not aware of any Perdio valved equipment, a picture or two would be useful.

Re: Perdiogram Record player any ideas?
I only remember Perdio as being one of the first companies to produce transtorised equipment, the first transistor TV I ever saw was a Perdio.

Re: Perdiogram Record player any ideas?
Perdio certainly did make valved grams, I've got one, I posted a thread about it on here somewhere in the long distant past.
Bought brand new by my mother in the mid 60s. It's typical cheap rubbish with two valves and a dropper, like a bad Dansette! The only reason that it's been kept is due to its family history, although to be fair, it's quite a stylish case. It certainly is rare, as I've never seen another one - and by the sounds of it, neither has anyone else on here. I brought it down from the loft again a few months ago as its (rather undersized) speaker has a slightly off centre voice coil which makes it sound even worse than it did when it was working properly, so it's on the 'to-do' list. Mine is just a record player with a BSR changer - no radio. |

And here it is: https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=54830.
So they did pre-date the Transistor era, you live and (theoretically) learn. However, no radio, so we still need more to go on. |
