Tone arm problem
I am trying to resurrect a Pye Achoic which has a BSR deck.
The current problem is that the tone arm will not swing far enough to complete the playing of a record. There appears to be resistance from a spring or something that stops it going further by the action of the spiralling grooves of the record, though one can move it over by pushing the tone arm against the spring. Does anyone know how to make the adjustment to enable the tone arm to swing further without resistance? |

Re: Tone arm problem
Hello Dean,
Check out the 'sticky' at the top of this section. [Velocity trip]It will probably answer your question. Don't force anything. It is probably due to hardened grease after being out of use for years. John. |

Re: Tone arm problem
Hi Richard, Pity we did not spot that when getting rid of hard grease in the motor bearings, Very likely it is the same problem in the trip mechanism as suggested by hcshort.
