Default "Record" Bond Tester - circuit and operating instructions sought

I was persuaded to part with £8, by two large and friendly but persistent gentlemen with a military bearing on the VMARS stand at yesterday's excellent NVCF, in exchange for a pair of these ex-WD battery-operated low-reading ohmmeters. I bought the pair in the hope of salvaging enough parts to assemble one working instrument from the two damaged ones.

A Google search has turned up nothing. From inspection and a bit of research, they seem to have Megger-style twin moving coil (deflection and control) movements and originally operated from a 1.2 volt wet NiCd accumulator. The range is 0 to 0.1 ohms - useful for measuring Avometer shunts - and it would be nice if someone recognises them and can explain how they should be used! There are no test leads, but the connections are made via a pair of 5-amp round 3-pin sockets in the sides of the case. I can't be sure of the correct polarity of the battery, nor which of the four connections on the movement go to which coil.

Hopefully the pictures below may help. Thank you in advance,

Phil

Hi Phil,

Have you tried contacting the company? They may have something in their archives.

Paul.

Thanks very much for that info, Paul. I've sent them a message.

Sorry about having to call off today, by the way. Hopefully, next Monday should be OK!

Cheers

Phil
