The circuits I posted show the last I.F. switched between thae AM detector and the product detector. You may want to omit this part of the switch if the AGC/S meter is derived from the AM detector. I dont see a probem doing this other than slight detuning of the the I.F. secondary. A slight tweak on the core should be all that is required to peak it.
