Default Grundig bits

A strange request (does he have any other sort, I hear you cry!).

I have a job on the go which involves copying some very cupped acetate tapes. Normally, my Telefunken M10 straightens such tapes beautifully between its twin capstans, but in this case the tension isn't enough to do the job fully, so some additional pressure is required. I'm loth to use a pad as some of this stuff will need to be transferred at double speed, so the scrape would become embarassing.I have been trying to get hold of a pressure roller and arm as used on the Grundig TK 9/12/819/820/830. Colin has very kindly come up with a couple of usable rollers, but has no pressure arms. I had some in the bits box once, but, alas, no longer.

Can anyone help with this, please? I'm not suggesting pulling a serviceable machine apart, of course, but many of these have been broken in times past, usually when the unidirectional pulleys went phut once to often.

Hi.

This is from an old Truvox. No use I suppose?

Roger.

Ted,

Looking at it from another angle, have you already tried storing the tape in B wind for a time. If not might that not improve the cupping enough to play it successfully on the M10?

Cheers Tim
