Hi, in 1992 I build this FM-tuner. I found it last time at my parents home.
I took some photos made for you and a scan of the schematic.:)
Maybe it is of interest for those who wants to make one.

Kind regards,
Darius

Darius,

That's amazing, it must have taken many, many hours to design and build :o

I like the CRT display. What was the commercial tuner that used a similar arrangement? A Marantz, maybe? I'm sure I have an article about it in a back issue of HiFi World somewhere.

Nick.

Very nice job Darius. How old were you when you made it?

Why did you decide to label the front panel in English not German?

At least that makes me feel a bit less inadequate - I had a horrible feeling Darius would say he'd made it when he was about 12, an age at which I was struggling to make one transistor MW radios work (mind you I was doing no better at 26) :D

I think my best efforts were when I was a teenager (lots of enthusiasm and time). It's all been downhill from there:(

Was the design entirely your own work, Darius?

Nick.

Hi Paul,
as a radio amateur I thaught english labeling
is international and modern. (I still think this, but people here often don't.)

Hi Nick,
yes the design is my work.
I have seen this Stereoscope first at the Langenberg FM transmitter (WDR)
and I wanted to have one.
I am happy to show you the
schematic here if I can.:-)
I think it is interesting and has some outstanding developments.;)
PM me your email and I can mail it to you.

Kind regards,
Darius

Hi Darius, a very interesting circuit, as a technophile I like the 'scope. It would look good using the 1BP1 25mm tube.
Were the coils home made or commercial? Can you supply details please?

Best regards, Ed

Hi Ed,
I bought the DN7-2 and the transformers T1 T2 at a ham flee marked
several years before I build the tuner.
(This ham flee marked is every early december in Dortmund Westfalenhalle.)
The RF- coils are all home made, the coils in the stereo decoder are
commercial ferrite coils.
The 38KHz filter transformer (plate E(C)F) is a small
line frequency transformer.

Kind regards,
Darius
