Practical Wireless? Transistor Circuits book.
Back in the early to mid 1960s one of the electronics magazines, probably Practical Wireless, but maybe PE included as a freebie a small booklet about 4 inches by 5 inches containing several circuits using the then comparitively new transistors.
One of the circuits in the book was a reflex receiver using a ferrite rod aerial and an AF117 transistor. I built this receiver and it worked very well. Alas the receiver was thrown out some years ago. As a nostalgia trip I'd like to build another of these receivers and do a better job. Does anyone have a copy of the book they could scan the circuit from for me please? |

Presented free with the June 1966 issue of PW here's the reflex circuit. Apologies for the poor edges I had used sellotape to stick it back together.
This booklet was the second in a series of three on Valve circuits, Transistor circuits and Testing Transistor and Valve circuits. I have all three and can scan them if anyone is interested Keith |
Re: Practical Wireless? Transistor Circuits book.
Thanks Keith. I knew someone would come up trumps. June 1996 then. I'd have been 15 then and this was the first transistor circuit I built from scratch.
I hope I'll be starting a new thread in Home Brew Equipment when I've built the circuit. |
