Signal Corp. LS-3 Speaker
Hello all, I have a Signal Corp. LS-3 speaker and the input jack is smaller than the standard 1/4" jack any one know which jack this is.

Re: Signal Corp. LS-3 Speaker
Those smaller jacks are quite common on American equipment. I think they're nearly always 3 contact, a bit like a stereo plug. I can't find one to take a photo of but they shouldn't be too difficult to find.
A duff mic. like a T17 would yield one. Jim |
Re: Signal Corp. LS-3 Speaker
Thanks for the reply Jim, yes I think they might be common enough for me to obtain one from somewhere, failing that I should be able to cobble up something. I've got it working on a match stick jobbie at the moment.
Thanks. Lawrence. |

Re: Signal Corp. LS-3 Speaker
Thanks, I have also now been informed that the jack plug to fit the LS-3 is commonly known as a PL68.
(Addition) According to my calipers the socket fitted to the speaker is just a fraction over 5 mm dia. Lawrence. |

Re: Signal Corp. LS-3 Speaker
Thanks Andy. I see they have the LS-3's also, although I am happy with one I have.

£8.93 here; P&P looks reasonable. No connection with / experience of the seller. http://shop1.actinicexpress.co.uk/sh...php?section=27 |
Re: Signal Corp. LS-3 Speaker
I dread to think what the postage for an LS-3 would be from the US!

Re: Signal Corp. LS-3 Speaker
I think it is 3/16".
If you are careful you can drill the socket out to 1/4" if you are don't mind it not being original. Don m5aky |
Re: Signal Corp. LS-3 Speaker
Hello Don I have found a source for the Jack Plug, years ago I would not hesitate to drill the socket out but not now, one of the reasons is that I can't get the socket out to do an operation like that as despite removing all the cabinet screws the front plate is well sealed on to the main box with the original MFP treatment and is stuck solid.
